Pinto Art Museum: Where Art and Gastronomy Unite in Antipolo, Rizal

Discover the captivating allure of Pinto Art Museum in Antipolo, a haven that beckons both art enthusiasts and food aficionados alike. Nestled amidst the rugged charm of Antipolo, this paradise perfectly marries artistic inspiration with delectable culinary delights. Tagged as "Instagrammable" by the younger generation, Pinto Art Museum's shareable charm stands as a testament to its enchanting appeal.

Stepping through Pinto's doors with a P200 entrance fee unveils a world that feels both unfamiliar and quaint, adorned with doors, stairways, and pathways leading to hidden treasures waiting to be explored. Situated within the sprawling 2-hectare Silangan Garden, Pinto Art Museum is a masterpiece within a botanical haven, showcasing the beauty of local flora and fauna.

Venture into its six buildings to find an eclectic collection of modern and primitive artworks. One striking aspect of this museum's architecture is how it integrates natural elements seamlessly into its design. Enormous rocks adorn galleries and staircases, becoming integral to its grandeur.

Unlike traditional museums, Pinto's open-air galleries offer a unique experience. Bask in the warmth of the Philippine sun as you immerse yourself in the showcased artworks. While not an art expert, I was particularly moved by the wire sculpture that conveyed a powerful political message, shedding light on the country's struggles.

A Brief History of Pinto Art Museum

Founded in 2010 by Dr. Joven Cuanang, a retired SVP and Chief Medical Officer at St. Luke's Hospital Global City, Pinto Art Museum emerged from a humble house and lot he purchased in the 70s. Transformed into a museum, it also supported local artists like Salingpusa by exhibiting their works on clotheslines.

Cafe Rizal: A Culinary Journey

Pinto's Cafe Rizal offers an array of local and international dishes in a rustic setting that exudes relaxation. Enjoy al fresco dining to take in the scenic view and pleasant breeze.

I savored the sumptuous chicken coq au vin, a delightful twist on the classic French chicken stew. Our table featured carbonara, pizza, and the unique Batanes roulade, a gourmet version of laing wrapped in steamed fish dory and cooked in coconut milk.

Cap off your experience with delightful desserts like their indulgent bread pudding, mouthwatering cheesecake, and a delightful halo-halo topped with Carmen's Best salted caramel ice cream.

Our dining journey was splendid, although some dishes took longer to arrive. Pinto's premium offerings come at a price, but the breathtaking setting makes it worthwhile. Patience is key as you savor both art and cuisine in a serene ambience.
