Four Seasons @ SM Aura: A Chinese Food Talks
Around 1.5 million Filipinos, according to Wikipedia, have pure Chinese ancestry. Though that only makes up 1.6% vs the total population, Chinese are represented in many areas of our society.
When I was a child, I remembered my father bringing me to his employer's home during some holiday celebrations. His employer was Chinese and her family served the finest dishes, unfamiliar to my eyes but very delicious. It was during those years that I've decided that Chinese food was one of my favorite.
With the presence of Chinese in our country, it is inevitable to have their culture intertwined with ours. That is so true especially with our cuisine.
To enjoy authentic Chinese food, Binondo trip is a worthwhile dining and learning experience. You get acquainted with their food, get to see how they prepare it the Chinese way and enjoy the feel of the old aristocratic Manila. Of course, you really don't have to go there just to fill yourself up with some Chinese food. Chinese restaurants are everywhere with much concentration of course in the Metro with diverse population. You can order your favorite noodles, dim sum, buns, roasted duck and among other succulent dishes.
If you happen to be in SM Aura Premier, one of the places for some inexpensive Chinese meal would be at Four Seasons, located at the Food on Four, Fourth Floor.
The last time I was there, I ordered their best-selling lechon macau served with fried egg, rice soup, steamed cabbage and a free drink (P200). You can add P10 to upgrade the rice for a yang chow fried rice. To complete the meal is hakaw or shrimp dumplings (P90).
It is quite a heavy meal. Looks simple but savory. With it's price, I really have nothing to complain about.
