Invasion of Chic-Boy

AngeleƱos welcomed Chic-Boy excitedly during its grand opening in Angeles City. Throng of people flocked, invaded, and filled the restaurant from the ground up to its second floor. I could see the long queue of people in the counter patiently waiting for their turn. I happened to pass by Rosario Street after my usual errand to the grocery. Images of the delicious Cebu lechon liempo flooded my brain.

This franchise only started two years ago and look at it now. With so many people coming in to eat, it looks a pretty good business to me.

What made Chic-Boy a big hit is probably attributed to the Filipinos great appetite. We just love to hear unlimited rice and refillable or bottomless iced tea. And of course "Cebu"-- Cebu has the reputation of cooking the best lechon in the country. No wonder Anthony Bourdain came to the Philippines in 2009 to cover about lechon in Cebu. Chic-Boy serves lechon manok (roasted chicken) and lechon liempo (roasted pork belly) the Cebu way; and that keeps people coming back to have a taste of it.

So, I had dinner in Chic-Boy Angeles last Sunday with my brother and his wife. We devour our food with a hint of guilt.
