Introduction
Filipinos indulge in three hearty meals each day, a culinary rhythm underscored by the staple presence of white rice. Beyond this routine, we savor snacks at various intervals, from brunch just before lunch to merienda post-lunch, and even a midnight snack. Some of us find joy in nibbling during work hours, a testament to our undeniable passion for the pleasures of the palate. It's no secret that Filipinos share a profound love for food, a sentiment reflected in the thriving food business landscape of our country. If you were to inquire about a potential business venture from a Filipino, chances are, 9 out of 10 would respond with a resounding "Food."
Here in the Philippines, the omnipresence of food is undeniable. Streets are lined with makeshift stalls, kiosks, and carts offering a diverse array of culinary delights. The landscape is adorned with food chain restaurants and coffee shops, catering to every taste bud's whim. Whether you crave American, Korean, Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Indian, or Italian cuisine, there's a spot somewhere that serves it.
The love affair with food is deeply ingrained in the Filipino way of life. Hence, my own adoration for food feels entirely natural.
In this blog, my focus will revolve around food—be it dishes I personally prepare in my kitchen, those purchased from street vendors or kiosks, or meals enjoyed at restaurants. Expect a virtual journey that provides insight into Filipino culture and life in my hometown, Angeles City.
So, I extend a warm welcome to you, dear reader, as you embark on this culinary exploration with me. I hope my photos, some sourced from creative commons or public domains, along with my stories, will bring you delight. Feel free to drop me a message; your thoughts and engagement are most welcome!
