Pasta and Pizza for Dinner at A Veneto Pizzeria Ristorante

A carbo-loading dinner for me and my "most eligible bachelor guy friend". Oh, please don't hate me for posting your picture. I know you wanted to be anonymous.

The menu looks so appetizing, but I just wanted the seafood oil-based pasta and pepperoni pizza. Our order never disappointed me. I simply loved the pasta and the pizza. I hope to try the other dishes on their menu next time.

The ristorante has several branches within the metro, but we dined at A Veneto Pizzeria Ristorante SM Mall of Asia. It has branches in Trinoma, Glorietta and SM Supercenter Pasig. I wonder when it is going to have a branch in Angeles City.

The food is great and the prices reasonable. It is a perfect place to hang-out and pig-out with your equally voracious friend/s.

If you need to place an order or do an inquiry, here's the contact info I got for A Veneto Pizzeria Ristorante from ClickTheCity.com

'Enjoy Life, Enjoy Goya'

This week has been, let me say, pretty challenging for me as I have to do some catching up with work. Honestly, I have never been laid back since becoming a freelancer. However, sometimes you decide to do something, which kind of change to the point of wrecking your entire weekly schedule. Anyway, to divert myself from whatever is tormenting me at the moment, I took the quickest way of making me feel good: chocolate!

I've read an article in the past that the satisfaction that people get from chocolate is the same with sex. It might be true, it might be not.  Either way, chocolate is my medicine.

I was looking for a dark chocolate. Disappointed not to see a Dark Chocolate Cadbury, I turned my attention to Meiji. Then I noticed Splendor crushed almonds in dark chocolate by Goya. I grabbed and bought one.

If you were born in the 70's or early 80's, you should probably remember about the Goya Fun Factory. When I was a kid, I was always dreaming of living in a place just like that. Goya has changed a lot since then. Faced with the stiff competition in the market, the company innovates. Stewardship have been passed from one company to another. If you want to know more about its history, read:
What’s new with 54-year-old Goya

Around 2008, they released their commercial showcasing their products. It is where that slogan 'Enjoy Life, Enjoy Goya' came from.

I was happy I bought Splendor. I loved every bite of it. And for a moment, I forgot that I was busy.

Invasion of Chic-Boy

AngeleƱos welcomed Chic-Boy excitedly during its grand opening in Angeles City. Throng of people flocked, invaded, and filled the restaurant from the ground up to its second floor. I could see the long queue of people in the counter patiently waiting for their turn. I happened to pass by Rosario Street after my usual errand to the grocery. Images of the delicious Cebu lechon liempo flooded my brain.

This franchise only started two years ago and look at it now. With so many people coming in to eat, it looks a pretty good business to me.

What made Chic-Boy a big hit is probably attributed to the Filipinos great appetite. We just love to hear unlimited rice and refillable or bottomless iced tea. And of course "Cebu"-- Cebu has the reputation of cooking the best lechon in the country. No wonder Anthony Bourdain came to the Philippines in 2009 to cover about lechon in Cebu. Chic-Boy serves lechon manok (roasted chicken) and lechon liempo (roasted pork belly) the Cebu way; and that keeps people coming back to have a taste of it.

So, I had dinner in Chic-Boy Angeles last Sunday with my brother and his wife. We devour our food with a hint of guilt.
